President Barack Obama announced his ideas for an energy plan on Thursday afternoon, hoping to create jobs through new projects and technologies. The new energy plan is expected to provide hundreds of new jobs in the energy field which President Obama predicts could save the struggling economy.
Employees at an electric-car plant in Pomona, Calif. listened as the President left them with some hope of recovery for their tough market.
New energy development is a large part of President Obama's economic recovery plan. The United States' past reliance on foreign fossil fuels is something that the President plans to move away from. Furthermore, the development of national energy dependency has the potential to provide hundreds of jobs.
"Sometimes great discoveries don't happen in a flash of brilliance, but rather as the result of a deliberate effort over time," Obama said in his address to the electric-car plant workers.
President Obama is heavily invested in energy research and is hoping progress will continue in energy development.
