Fashion gurus have unanimously agreed that the new must have item for spring 2009 is jumpsuits.
While many think that jumpsuits should be left in the seventies, fashion designer Elie Tahari says otherwise.
“It looks fresh and new,” Tahari says. “It's something that hasn't been around.”
Tahari added that the modern day jumpsuit is “less vulgar and a little more relaxed,” unlike the seventies jumpsuits.
Fashion markets director at Saks Fifth Avenue Colleen Sherin noticed the comeback of jumpsuits on the spring runways in fashion capitals such as New York.
“There were so many of them, we couldn’t ignore them.” Sherin said. Sherin also sees the jumpsuit as the evolution of the dress.
She also said that other spring trends, such as bright shoes or bold costume jewelry will help give the jumpsuits a new look for the working woman.
