Joseph Girodano, 17, Cicero-North High School, faces charges for indecent material and endangering the welfare of a child.
The pair met on the social networking site, MySpace.com, and exchanged communication for several months. The relationship was over texting and networking, meaning the two had never met in person.
But, once the girl's parents saw the sexual video, the networking and texting came to an end. The parents called the authorities and launched an investigation.
"Sexting" has become a more common crime nationally. Naked pictures circulating cell phones in a community have most recently initiated child pornography cases.
Although this particular case will not deal with child pornography, Girodano will still be facing charges at his arraignment scheduled for April 7.
