Marrone Searching for Starting QB

As spring practices start up, Syracuse’s new head coach Dough Marrone has already begun evaluating who will start at quarterback next season.

Marrone has 5 QB’s to choose from, Sr. Cameron Dantley, who started the majority of the games last season, Sr. Andrew Robinson, So. David Legree, redshirted freshman Ryan Nessib, and high school recruit Charley Loeb.

Marrone wants to give each quarterback as many looks a possible before he makes the crucial of decision of picking who will lead the Orange offense next year.

"I think right now, what we're trying to do is we're trying to define and make sure we get enough looks with the different receivers, the different plays, making sure that they can do everything before we get a full evaluation," said Marrone.

Currently Dantley and Nessib have been receiving the majority of snaps with the first team offense

So far Marrone has been working the QB’s and the rest of the offense on situations he felt the team needs work on from last season.

“The numbers are out of what we've done in the past year before and then what we need to improve on to be the best in the Big East." Marrone said.
